Luxury watches need to be taken care of thoroughly in order to keep time correctly, and keep working correctly. There are a few tips to follow when caring for a luxury watch. First off, taking your watch to a service every two years is essential. The watch servicers replace the battery and clean the inner workings from any dirt or dampness found inside. The servicer will also replace any parts that need to be replaced, at times with no extra charge other than the service. While in between services, there are a few things to do in order to take care of your luxury watch. One is to treat your watch carefully. Try not to bang against walls or desks with your watch. Secondly, avoid extreme temperatures. Any extremely hot or extremely cold temperature will affect the pace of your watch and the electronics inside will temporarily stop resulting in imprecise timing. A main watch breaker to be worried about is water. Even if your watch is waterproof, be aware of getting water in the inner workings of the watch. The watch will stop working when water gets inside. Be aware, especially if you have a leather band, to not perspire into the watch. Keeping your watch clean is essential when caring for a luxury watch. Get a computer screen cleaner or sunglasses cleaner and gently wipe your watch everyday. Also, remember to not put your watch into the case after you use it because it keeps the moisture and dirt trapped in the watch. Good luck keeping your watch precise and working as new.
